I am very excited to have been appointed to the Board of Directors for the OBOA as a Director at Large. I look forward to the challenges in the upcoming term, and supporting the president Leo Cusumano and the Board of Directors in whatever way I can.
I would like to thank my chapter Muskoka / Parry Sound for their encouragement and support in my appointment. As well I would like to thank the Town of Bracebridge and my co-workers for giving me the opportunity to take part at this level.
I have been an OBOA member since 1991 when I started with the City of Barrie Building Department in the Simcoe County Chapter. In 2008 I moved to the Town of Bracebridge and the Muskoka /Parry Sound Chapter. I became chapter chair in 2010, this gave me the opportunity to meet a number of great people that encouraged me to join the Board of Directors and assist where possible.
It has been exciting to see the OBOA develop into the organization that it has become. We have gained respect from the industry as well as advancing the building officials profession. The Board of Directors has worked very hard to ensure this happens. I am honored to be a part of such a fast paced and forward thinking board, and I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, the members and the OBOA staff.
Sincerely,
Andy Jones, CBCO
