The Communications page offers a blend of information in a variety of contexts, including OBOA member briefs, small group communication and organizational communication. Information on minutes and other communications from your Board of Directors or Chapters of the OBOA and occasionally minutes from other affiliated associations and committees will be present.
The Communications page updates members and non-members alike on the development in the relevant gathering and disseminating of information through communication and for print or broadcast in areas of public relations regarding government, organizations or business related to the Building Industry. The purpose is to empower our viewers with more meaningful information and effective voices in and from the Building Industry.
The goal in communication requires intellectual understanding, perception and being able to effectively interpret and understand situations and challenges. From such knowledge comes the ability to make informed, meaningful, and ethical choices. As we strive towards these goals, we promote the transdisciplinary nature of our industry to be a source of strength and enrichment. Drawing from knowledge bases and methods of inquiry of the collective sources and practical experience, practitioners of the Building Code can experience a multi-dimensional view of their industry. From the synergy of these experienced backgrounds and opinions surfaces a more complete and valuable understanding of the role, process and opinions of the practitioner of the Building Code in its various forms. Towards that end, the Communications webpage strives to help our viewers to better understand, and as a result, contribute to the ongoing conversation within the industry. Through such efforts, we all benefit.
