Heather Rutherford
Heather Rutherford, CBO for the Township of Essa officially has retired, and OBOA celebrated her retirement at the April 11 2015 Chapter Chairs Meeting. Heather retired as CBO for Essa for almost 9 years, and coordinated a fine emergency plan after the Angus tornado devastated a small Town and impacted 101 homes in June 2014.
Heather honed her skills working for the Town of Innisfil as their CBO for 6 years and Town of Markham as a building inspector for 5 years. Heather believed in obtaining credentials to demonstrate her professionalism acquiring CBCO Certification and CET (OACETT) respectively 20 years and 26 years ago. Heather gained skills working at the federal level for 8 years and in the private sector with engineering firms working with concrete, soils, structural and field inspections over an 8 year period.
Heather also served on various Advisory Committees such as septic systems, energy efficiency, Part 3 and 9. She also served the Association as one of the OBOA Facilitators in sharing knowledge with the next generation of building officials. Congratulations Heather on your retirement!
