Course Description:
This technical course has been designed to enable both new and experienced building officials to gain added knowledge on the legal requirements of being appointed as a Chief Building Official or Inspector in the Building Code Act. This course is recommended for all Building Officials and Designers.
This course is based on the 2024 Ontario Building Code and is a required course for certification as either a Building Code Qualified (BCQ) or Certified Building Code Official (CBCO) individual through the OBOA.
Objectives of the course:
· Introduce the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the responsibilities of employees and supervisors and their rights as well as extracts from selected regulations.
· Overview of the legal environment within which a Building Inspector operates.
