Ontario CodeNews Issue 383: Consultation Launched on Building Code Advisory Body Section-by-Section Review

The newly established Building Code Advisory Body (BCAB), supported by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, is launching a 30-day consultation and has released the attached consultation paper to support this work.

The BCAB is gathering input on opportunities to reduce regulatory burdens and improve Ontario's Building Code while maintaining health, safety, accessibility and performance outcomes. Stakeholders and members of the public are encouraged to review the consultation paper and participate in the consultation process.

Comments may be submitted through the Environmental Registry of Ontario website until Friday, August 14, 2026.
