We have been notified of a delay in the Ontario Building Code (OBC) project that has required Humber College to temporarily modify the examination delivery format. As a mitigation strategy, Humber College will be transitioning to in-person, paper-based examinations from August 5 to September 12, 2025.

Humber College has communicated this change to the Ministry, and they are supportive of this approach. In addition, their website has been updated to reflect this temporary adjustment to ensure transparency and clarity for all candidates.

Please be assured that Humber College remains fully committed to maintaining a high standard of professionalism and service throughout this transition period. Their team is dedicated to ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for all examinees.

Key details for this temporary period:

  • All OBC examinations will be conducted in-person and on paper from August 5 to September 12, 2025.

  • Candidates will continue to have access to the Building Code Compendium (Volumes 1 and 2) in PDF format for reference.

  • However, it is strongly recommended that candidates bring a hard copy of the Compendium to their scheduled examination, in case of any technical difficulties accessing the PDF version.

We will continue to update OBOA members as we receive more information.
