On January 1, 2022, O.Reg 867/21 came into effect to enable a two-permit system for tiny houses. Under this new regulation, structure can be built in one municipality and have it located or installed into another municipality.
In response to members’ input, the OBOA created a transfer form to aid municipalities with the process. It is suggested that this form be started at the first municipality and that it also be required upon application at the second municipality which in turn will notify them of design constraints, completed inspection and electrical verification.
